Description

The "Seclab" is a collaborative play-ground for getting your hands on cutting-edge research in computer security that has been successfully published at top-tier venues. In this course, you will read up on the respective research topic, implement prototypes, and conduct evaluations on real-world data.

You may choose one of the provided topcis from recent computer security research (cf. below), which include but are not limited to vulnerability discovery, the detection of malware and APTs, adversarial and explainable machine learning.

Throughout the semester, we are going to progress through different phases that are necessary to successfully replicate research which are accompanied with regular meet-ups of all participants. At the end of the year, results and "lessons learned" will be presented at a final colloquium.

Mailing List

News about the practical course, potential updates to the schedule, and additional material are distributed using a separate mailing list. Moreover, the list enables students to discuss topics and solution approaches.

Topics

Every student may choose one of the following topics that he/she is going to work on for the entire semester. Each topic is represented by a specific paper that has published at a prestigeous venues and that has significantly contributed to research. Your task is to replicated the results presented in the paper and put them into perspective. Things would be too easy if there were (complete) open-source implementations, though 😉

Topics are going to be announced soon.
